Location & Discovery History

  • Location: Situated in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam.
  • Discovery: First found by a local man, Ho Khanh, in 1991, but it wasn’t until 2009 that the British Royal Cave Expedition Team officially explored and confirmed Son Doong as the largest cave in the world.
